A Greater Bloodfiend, which I've made for an art trade with @thesigilist. Just like their smaller, bipedal cousins, Greater Bloodfiends are spirits of ancient warhorses that were fed a carnivore's diet.
Bloodfiend and Greater Bloodfiend. |
This model is converted from parts of a Perry plastic horse and a skull I sculpted for Harwood Hobbies. The rest is putty.

Bone trees from @helgewilhelm arrived
in the mail. Thanks Helge! They will be perfect scenery
for my Necrons. Seems I'll have to buy the other three variants that are
in preparation, too. Real pig bones were used to create the originals, and the lovely textures were well preserved in these resin casts. They're still available in Helge's Etsy shop.
Love the fiend! You really do "creepy" very effectively Ana.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Greater Bloodfiend has a bit more attitude as well. Prancing about like a fancy boi while nipping heads off!
ReplyDeleteThose bone trees look fantastic!
Thanks! Yeah, this one is sassy.
DeleteDamn that is really creepy, love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWho would have guessed, that making the horse's torso so short, you could create such a wonderfully creepy effect! Amazing stuff!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSuitably creepy and well executed!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon!
DeleteThat fiend is superb. I'd be buying some of those were they cast!
ReplyDeleteThanks! In time, there will be commercially available greater bloodfiends.
DeleteThis is a great model and a superb addition to the regular bloodfiend. The long curled tail is a very nice touch, adding some more non-equine creepiness.
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg!
